Use the Playground Checklist to inspect playground equipment condition, as well as any buildings and machinery, to ensure safety standards at playgrounds.

1. No damage, vandalism, graffiti or illegal elements?

2. Softfall - raked to ensure even distribution, especially under impact areas?

3. Softfall depth - adequate (bark 200-250mm, sand 350mm)?

4. Litter & weeds - softfall free from sharps, foreign objects, litter & weeds?

5. Clean surfaces - all play surfaces free from obstructions, dirt, grime & mould?

6. Equipment - all elements secure (no tears, twists, missing or damaged parts)?

1. Fire risk assessment up to date?

2. Inflammables stored in fireproof containers?

3. Chemicals (COSHH) records up to ate and stored safely?

4. First Aid kit easily available and up to date?

1. PUWER & LOLER inspections up to date?

2. Equipment in good condition and undamaged?

3. Staff training records up to date?

4. PPE available where required?

5. Manual Handling instruction given?
