Forbes Standards: Hotel Dining Checklist

With this Forbes Standards 2023 checklist, conduct inspections and ensure that your hotel meets the Forbes restaurant standards in your dining facilities.

1. Staff exhibits a genuine sense of interest and concern for the guest and/or demonstrates anticipatory service when appropriate and helpful

2. Before taking the guest’s order, staff inquires about dietary restrictions, preferences or allergies or proactively acknowledges these if previously made known

3. If dietary restrictions, preferences or allergies are made known and a dish modification is required, staff appropriately acknowledges these when serving the meal

4. Once the guest is seated, the table is politely greeted within one minute

5. Menu and/or buffet includes at least two high quality health-conscious beverages

6. Menu and/or buffet provides an exceptional variety, including concept-driven specialty dishes

7. Removed COVID-19 Concession: This standard will revert to the original requirements in 2023 evaluations

8. Vacated tables are cleared within five minutes

9. The seating and table arrangement are comfortable, including ample tabletop space

10. Standard retired for 2023
