Surface Condition & Upkeep

1. Is the protective surfacing (mulch, rubber, sand) maintained at the required depth to ensure proper impact absorption for the height of the equipment?

2. Has all loose-fill material been raked and leveled, particularly in high-traffic 'kick-out' areas under swings and at slide exits?

3. Is the surfacing free of foreign objects, dangerous debris, and standing water that could degrade the material or cause slips?

4. Are there any exposed footings or concrete anchors that have become visible due to surfacing displacement?

Hardware, Fasteners & Connectivity

1. Have all bolts, nuts, and screws been checked for tightness and verified to be flush with the equipment surface?

2. Are S-hooks and shackles on swings closed to a gap of less than 0.04 inches (about the thickness of a dime)?

3. Is there any evidence of excessive wear on moving parts, such as swing hangers, chains, or pivot points?

1. Is the equipment free of visible rust, corrosion, or peeling paint that could weaken the metal structure?

2. Have all wooden components been inspected for rot, large cracks, or splinters that require sanding or replacement?

3. Are all guardrails and handrails secure and free of movement when weight is applied?
