Use this RV Inspection Checklist to conduct comprehensive pre-trip checks, ensuring all the systems, safety features, and equipment are in working condition.

1. Is the layout confirmed?

2. Do all interior doors close and lock, and are there no gaps or misalignment?

3. Do the windows open, lock, and latch properly, and are they securely screwed in?

4. Are there no cracks or chips on the window glass?

5. Are the seals, gaskets, and tint in good condition?

6. Are the window screens present and free of damage?

7. Do the blinds and curtains move correctly, and are the brackets fastened?

8. Is the flooring and covering free of rips, tears, soft spots, bulges, curling, squeaking, or bouncy sections? Is it closely inspected around slides, near the shower, and under sinks?

9. Is the ceiling pressed to detect sagging?

10. Are the wall coverings matching, aligned, and in good shape?

11. Are the cabinets, closets, and wardrobes opening, closing, and latching properly? Is all their hardware intact with no missing handles or screws?

12. Are the drawers functioning properly?

13. Are the countertops, extensions, and shelves secure? Are they lifted to confirm proper attachment?

14. Are the sink and stove covers present?

15. Is the trim and molding fastened securely?

16. Are there any exposed nails or screws visible?

17. Is there any mold or mildew smell present?

18. Are there any sewer odors?

1. Do the propane, smoke, and CO2 detectors work, and is the plastic tab removed from the battery?

2. Is the fire extinguisher present, full, and placed correctly?

3. Does the emergency exit window operate properly?

1. Is the condition of the mattress checked by lifting it to look for rips, tears, and mold? Is it the correct size as specified in the specs?

2. Do the convertible beds (Murphy, bunk, loft, and hide-away) open and close smoothly without any obstructions?

3. Are the sofas, seats, and cushions free from rips, tears, or loose stitching?

4. Do the sofa beds transform into a bed and function properly when laid on?

5. Is all permanent furniture properly screwed to the floor?

6. Do the recliners open and close smoothly, and are they secured to the floor?

7. Is the dining table installed correctly, and do the leaves work?

8. Do the dining benches/seats transform into a proper bed?

9. Do the seatbelts work and are they in the proper position and condition?

1. Does the microwave open, close, and work? Is it tested by heating some water in a safe cup?

2. Do the stove burners, igniters, and hot plates work? Are they turned on and off to check?

3. Do the oven settings and pilot light work properly?

4. Does the kitchen exhaust fan operate correctly?

5. Do all fridge doors align properly, and do the seals close tightly? Is the dollar bill test performed?

6. Do the fridge, freezer, and ice maker work in both gas and electric modes?

7. Is the entire refrigerator secured properly?

1. Is each TV turned on to verify it matches the specified brand and includes all advertised features? Are they securely fastened and able to swivel and lock in transit?

2. Does the stereo work indoors and outdoors?

3. Do the TV antenna and satellite dish controls work (raising, rotating, and lowering)?

4. Is the CD and DVD player tested?

5. Does Bluetooth connect to a phone and function correctly?

6. Are the remotes for the TV, stereo, and fireplace present and functional?

1. Does the AC blow cold air when the thermostat is turned on?

2. Is any rattling or loose item sound heard when the AC is on?

3. Does the furnace run properly, and do the vents blow warm air? Is the vent installation correct?

4. Are all filters checked?

5. Is there any furnace odor or loud noise when it’s running?

6. Are all thermostats working perfectly?

7. Do all fans operate correctly?

8. Are all air vents throughout the unit checked and operated?

9. Does the electric fireplace operate?

1. Is the water pump turned on and audible? Is there no on/off cycling? Are the kitchen and bathroom faucets run?

2. Does the water heater run on both AC and propane for 10 minutes? Is hot water flow tested from the faucets and the shower? Is cold water working and connected to the correct side?

3. Is the water heater and anode rod checked for corrosion or rust?

4. Are the faucets, shower, and plumbing fittings free from leaks or looseness?

5. Are the sinks and their connections free of blockages or leaks?

6. Are the drains and traps tight and free of leaks?

7. Are the pipe connections under sinks and in cabinets inspected for leaks?

8. Is the caulking and silicone properly applied around the top of the shower enclosure, shower pan, door area, and sinks?

9. Is the shower run to ensure there is no water leaking outside the enclosure onto the floor?

10. Is the toilet properly secured, free of cracks, and flushing properly? Are there signs of leaks around the toilet base?

11. Do the washer and dryer work, and are the connections secure and leak-free?

1. Do all lights turn on and off, including dimmers, accent, pantry, closet, and outside lights? Do all switches and bulbs work?

2. Are all lights tested on battery mode only?

3. Are the light fixtures secured?

4. Are the outlets and USB ports tested using a 3-light polarity tester or a small device with a charger?

5. Does the power management panel work properly?

6. Is the solar system inspected, including the inverter, its display, lights, and charge controller? Is the battery charge level checked?

7. Is the transfer switch identified and tested? Does automatic power switching between available systems (shore power, generator, and inverter) work?

8. Is the house battery inspected for corrosion and wire damage?

9. Is the RV run on both battery and generator power, with the AC and DC supply checked?

10. Are the fuse and breaker panels inspected?

1. Is the protective underbelly cover examined for gaps, tears, sagging, or loose edges? Is it flat and well-sealed to prevent moisture or rodents from entering the RV?

2. Is the frame inspected for rust, cracks, and secure welds?

3. Are the axles free from cracks, bending, or damage?

4. Are the welds in good condition?

5. Are the suspension nuts and bolts present, and are nearby welds intact?
