Pre-Operation & Documentation

1. What is the current date and the MEWP type, model, and serial number?

3. Is the machine marked with its Safe Working Load (SWL)?

4. Are inspection records or decals (e.g., LOLER inspection date) valid and current?

Visual & Fluid Checks (Ground Level)

1. Are the engine oil, fuel, hydraulic fluid, and coolant levels correct, and are there any signs of leaks?

2. Are tires/wheels/tracks and wheel fixings in good condition, and is the tire pressure correct?

3. Are the main structure and boom sections free from visible damage, wear, or missing components (e.g., dents, cracks, welding faults)?

4. Are hoses, pipes, and cables checked for chafing, damage, or correct routing?

5. Are axle extensions, steering, and oscillation functioning correctly?

6. Are the outrigger pads and pins in place and undamaged?

Operational & Control Checks

1. Do the emergency stop buttons (both ground and platform) function correctly when pressed?

2. Does the lower (ground) control station operate all functions as required?

3. Does the upper (platform) control station operate all functions as required?

4. Are the platform level and drive controls functioning smoothly, without deviation?

5. Is the limit switch operation confirmed as being functional (e.g., speed, boom position)?

6. Does the tilt alarm and sensor activate when the machine is intentionally tilted?

7. Is the emergency lowering system functional (e.g., manual pump or auxiliary power)?
