1. Is the door, frame, and wall aligned, secure, and free from damage or warping?

2. Is the letterbox fire-rated, closing fully, and free from gaps or damage?

3. Is the glazing fire-resistant, undamaged, and correctly sealed?

4. Are the hinges, locks, latches, and handles tight, undamaged, and fire-door rated?

5. Are the gaps around the door consistent and not too wide?

6. Are the intumescent strips and smoke seals, if fitted, continuous and undamaged?

7. Does the self-closer ensure the door closes and latches securely by itself?

8. Are there any alterations that might reduce the door’s fire-resisting performance?
