Use this Electrical Visual Inspection Checklist to examine components, identify defects, and confirm safety. Generate a detailed report for full compliance.

1. Fixed Installation & Infrastructure Inspection

2. Are consumer units or distribution boards easily accessible and not obstructed by stored materials?

3. Is the enclosure or casing of the distribution board free from damage, cracks, or signs of overheating?

4. Are all circuit breakers and fuses correctly labeled to identify the areas or equipment they control?

5. Is there visible evidence of deterioration or damage to fixed wiring, such as frayed insulation or exposed conductors?

6. Are all protective bonding conductors (earth wires) securely connected to the main water and gas services?

7. Are light fittings securely fixed and free from signs of heat damage or discoloration?

2. Are all socket outlets securely fixed to the wall and free from cracks or broken casings?

3. Is there any discoloration or charring around sockets or switches that might indicate loose connections or overloading?

4. Are light switches operating smoothly without any visible damage or sparking when used?

5. Is the use of multi-way adapters and extension leads kept to a minimum to avoid overloading sockets?

6. Are all outdoor sockets and switches fitted with appropriate weatherproof covers?

2. Is the outer insulation (sheath) of flexible cables securely gripped where it enters the plug and the equipment?

3. Are flexible cables and cords free from cuts, abrasions, or repairs made with non-standard tape?

4. Are the plugs free from cracks, and are the pins straight and securely held?

5. Are cables positioned safely to prevent them from being a tripping hazard or becoming trapped under furniture?

6. Is there any sign of excessive heat or melting on the plugs or cables of high-power appliances?

2. Does the Residual Current Device (RCD) trip correctly when the "test" button is pressed?

3. Are all safety warning signs and "Danger: High Voltage" labels clearly visible and legible?

4. Has the equipment been checked for valid PAT (Portable Appliance Testing) stickers, if required by local policy?

5. Is there a clear record of previous inspections and any remedial work that has been carried out?
