Safety Precautions

1. Is personal protection, such as a harness, lanyard, and hard hat, in use?

2. Are the manufacturer guidelines for use in windy conditions followed, including lowering the lift if it begins to rock in the wind?

3. Are the floor or ground conditions checked for drop-offs, holes, uneven surfaces, and sloped floors?

4. Is housekeeping in place to ensure there are no debris, floor obstructions, cords, construction materials, or supplies?

5. Is the location of electrical power cables or panels assessed to ensure they are at least 10 feet away, and is guidance sought from the Facilities Management Department for larger lines or wet conditions?

6. Are chemical lines, gas lines, drain lines, and utilities checked for location?
