This Warehouse Storage audit checklist helps identify hazards and prevent accidents associated with storing materials, operating machinery and forklifts. It is recommended to conduct such inspections on a weekly basis to ensure workplace health and safety.

1. Are bags, boxes, containers, bundles, etc. stored safely and appropriately so that they are stable and secure to prevent sliding or collapse?

3. Have employees been trained on the hazards associated with the emissions of heavy machines?

4. Are forklift drivers trained to not back up forklifts all the way to the dock edges?

5. Are forklift drivers trained to keep clear of dock edges?

6. Are forklift drivers trained to maintain safe clearances for aisles and at loading docks?

7. Are forklift drivers observed following safe procedures for picking up, putting down and stacking loads?

9. Are warnings or mirrors installed at intersections or blind corners so that forklift operators can see pedestrians?

10. Is the facility using the right type of forklifts, designated for the business?

11. Do the motorized hand and hand/rider trucks used in the facility adhere to adequate safety measures and guidelines?

12. Where lifting of heavy materials is required, is powered equipment available to personnel to avoid manual lifting?

13. Have shelves and bins been positioned at waist level in order to reduce lifts from shoulder height and from floor height?

14. Have all employees responsible for handling materials been provided with ergonomic training?

15. Are all pallet storage racks properly installed and braced as per the manufacturer's guidelines, with each post anchored firmly to the floor?

16. Is each section of pallet rack’s maximum load capacity clearly posted to avoid permanent damage to the racks and accidents?
