1. Are there papers, shoes, books, or other objects on the stairs?

3. Is there an overhead light and light switch installed at the top and bottom of the stairs? If not, is an electrician called to install them, including glow-in-the-dark switches?

5. Is the carpet on the steps loose or torn?

6. Are the handrails secure, and are there handrails on both sides of the stairs that extend the full length? If not, are they fixed or replaced?

1. When you walk through the room, is the path clear from any furniture?

2. Are there throw rugs on the floor? If so, are the rugs removed, or do they need double-sided tape or non-slip backing to prevent slipping?
